WITA SALIM PRADONGGO
Wita Pradonggo is an Indonesian language teacher in the United States who specializes in teaching foreign diplomats who are slated to be stationed in Indonesia. Since 2010, Wita has been working for the Diplomatic Language Services teaching students from USAID, the Department of Agriculture, Department of Defense, Department of Commerce and a number of other U.S. government agencies. Wita teaches her students to master the advanced level of Bahasa Indonesia in both speaking and reading until they successfully passed the Foreign Service Institute and the Defense Language Proficiency Test.
In between teaching, Wita is often asked to translate English and Indonesian by international consultant agencies in the United States. Before Wita became an Indonesian language teacher for foreign diplomats, she had experience in career development and training as an associate manager.
During her teenage years, Wita represented Indonesia in the 15th World Scout Jamboree held in Calgary, Canada. This was the initial experience that sparked Wita’s drive to expose Indonesian culture to the international stage.
Wita’s educational background consists of her degree as an engineer in the field of industrial engineering from the National Technical Institute Bandung, Indonesia. Wita and her husband have lived in Maryland, USA, since 1999. This couple is loved and known by many children around the Washington D.C. community.
